Metonic Conversion I

This piece is a collaboration between Leon Liu and Gabriel Smith created in conjunction with the film project: the los box. Gabriel provided the initial scans of ink drawings and Leon added digital content to create the desired reference to a convergence between disparate sides, sun and moon, male and female, etc. The output was then used in the filming of scenes for the independent film project (see canto ii). The title refers to the nineteen year cycle of convergence of lunar and solar years. The images play into the film’s plot concerning the camerotilus, a central node in thyme’s middleware where the flower (female) and butterfly (male) converge. by Leon Liu& Gabriel Smith
